The girls LOVE 4th of July. In fact for the past two years Beanies has held a 4th of July Party for all of our friends and family. Since school is out I look for any way to keep the girls busy and this 4th of July Banner did just that….for a little while anyway!
(I’ll try and update this picture when I get out my summer decorations!)
The girls and I created this 4th of July banner last year as we were getting ready for their party weeks in advance. I love the fact that I am able to reuse this decoration that we made together. It’s super fun and one that they are proud to tell everyone that they made.
We also made these Popsicle Stick Flags that we used this year in our planters. I’m pretty sure we will be making more 4th of July decorations and crafts as time goes on so be sure to stay tuned…you may even have a special surprise from Mini Me!
Supplies
-
- Decorative Wire from Dollar Store
-
- Felt
-
- Glue
- Stitch Witchery (Fabric Glue)
Directions
1. Cut out a triangle pattern and cut out 11 of them (one of each letter) in different colors.
2. On a flat surface lay out your triangles. You’ll want 6 letters on one and 5 on the other row.
3. Run your decorative wire the length of your triangles for each row adding an additional 2″ so that you can hang them.
4. Using stitch witchery or fabric glue (or if you sew!) attach the decorative wire to the felt by flipping the felt over the wire and attaching.
5. Cut out letters from the scrap felt. If you don’t have any you can use a few pieces of felt to create your letters.
6. Attach the letters with glue to the front of the banner.
Let everything dry completely before you hang your 4th of July banner!
