So you want to know how to increase facebook likes on your page? You’ve got to know the secret and it’s not with boosting posts! C’mon in! I’ll pour you a cup of coffee π
As bloggers we struggle. We struggle with producing content that’s not already been put out on the web and if we do we want our article to be the best. We struggle with putting ourselves out there in hopes that the trolls decide to just skip on over our website because ain’t nobody got time for the strangers who know best. We struggle with transferring all of those new likes on a viral social share into new likes….
NOT ANYMORE!
Stay with me on this and I gaurantee you’ll begin to increase your Facebook page and turn those likes into fans! That is why you are here, right?!?
UPDATE 6/25/15 – It seems that if you have a Fanpage of 100K+ this method will not work. Once I heard that number with the DOD I’ll be sure to try out other methods of how to increase the fanbase!
Let’s go!
I’ve been working with Leanne Lee of DivaofDIY.com for a bit now. She’s a beautiful contractor who has grown leaps and bounds since I came on board {I’m not bragging, just sayin’!}. She was a bit of a “newbie” if you will when it came to the blogging thing. She had been taken advantage of by two top people in the community and I hung my head in shame…I ended up getting her a refund because these people truly took advantage.
Anyhow, I have been doing some Facebook Experiments over the past year and finally hit the nail on the head! {Sorry, I’ve been working with Leanne for far to long π }
The image above is the Insight stats from the Diva of DIY Facebook Page {head on over you can see what I’ve been sharing and what’s done well!}. As you can see the reach increases each and every week. You can tell the times when we weren’t the most active with the dip in interaction, reach and new likes.
We’ve been averaging about 305 new Likes a Week which has more added about 3,500 page views in the page 3 months. This is pretty incredible for not really doing much other than sharing. I know a few of you have been paying for Sponsored Posts with zero to little interaction. Paying Facebook to share your content only tells them that you will continue to do so….share the viral content and get them as fans…they will come to your site if you give them things to come for.
You can’t just share a recipe that goes ape shit and then never give them another recipe. You can’t share a memory of when they were a kid and expect them to come to your site to purchase whatever it is your selling. You’ve got to build a relationship with your readers first (with sharing) and then ease your way into what it is you have to offer.
Now I’ve been working with a few other sites whose pages were pretty much dead. I saw results, but, the interaction was pretty dead. At the end of a few weeks the site owners felt like it wasn’t in their best interest or I just couldn’t post the content at the timely intervals that were needed.
I began to imply the same method I had been using over at the Diva of DIY Facebook page to my new My Heavenly Recipes Facebook Page and you can see that while I may not have the large audience, I’m slowly beginning to get new likes.
At the end of May I have really started taking my website seriously and have been implementing what I’ve learned over the past 8 years of blogging to get MyHeavenlyRecipes.com out there. I started off with sharing my articles and having other bloggers share my recipes in their roundups,Β have added a few recipes to Yummly (my current top referral) and just today pinned all of my recipes to the Best of My Heavenly Recipes board that I will then use those pins to pin to group boards and such.
{I’m slow to jump on the Pinterest wagon simply because I didn’t need it until now!}
Anyhow! Let’s get you to the good stuff π
So maybe you’ve had a post on Facebook go viral or perhaps you shared a viral video or image and it went crazy on your page. To increase your overall Facebook Page what you are looking for is LIKES.
Here’s what I mean…
I’m sure you’ve seen this MASH image floating around. Well I clicked on NGEN’s Photo and SHARED to the Diva of DIY page.
UPDATE: After discussion in a few groups I realized I needed to be a bit more clear. You need to share the ORIGINAL. For this particular image you would click on the words ‘photo’. From there you will then click that ‘share’ button and select where you want to share that content. Whether that’s on your personal or blog/company page.
As you can see we had 1,123 LIKES on that share.
From there I click on the 1,120 and it brings you to this pop up:
From there you can now INVITE those who liked your post on Facebook. These people are not current fans. Once you invite them and they accept it, they are now a fan!
Another Update:
Β 1. You’ve got to be logged in as your PERSONAL account and not your PAGE.
2. The above shows you the invite button. As you can see the majority will have already liked your page.
3. The arrow in the side indicates the scroll. You’ll need to hover your mouse on the far right hand side of the pop up box. If you’ve had more than 6 likes you’ll need to scroll. This is why it’s beneficial to share viral content…you’ll get more likes!
*You will need to scroll down and click INVITE to turn those folks into new fans of your page.
It really is a game changer. Once you begin to increase your Facebook Fan Base you’ll see a increase in your page views!
I hope this update helps you!
And…Another Update!
So many of you expressed that whenever you go to your PAGE you are automatically logged in and writing as it…WRONG!
I access my pages from the left hand side of the main Facebook page where your newsfeed is. You’ll notice the blue arrow in the image above pointing to the page category. Under that are the pages that you are a admin/editor of. As you can see I have My Heavenly Recipes, Diva of DIY, No Diets Allowed (Holla Kami – she made me an admin so I can show her why she wasn’t able to access this entire ordeal and it works!) and Marci Loehner (my Beachbody Coach page) and The Frugal Find (that I help to manage).
I hope this is the last update π and you aren’t all confused now!
You’ve got nothing to loose, you don’t have to pay Facebook for Sponsored Content and it’s FREE to get fans!
If you are interested in my Engaging Facebook Service be sure to let me know by shooting me a email. I will share viral content and turn those likes into fans!
Now because we are growing our Facebook Fan Base please follow my recipes {and nonsense} on Facebook! You can also follow me on Instagram and Pinterest! I can’t wait to follow you back and grow our brands together!
I had no idea that this was possible! Very interesting. Thank you
It’s taken me a year of trying different ways I thought it would work…we are gaining every week so I can’t complain….and I’m NOT paying Facebook π
Interesting method. I hadn’t heard of it before. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve gone and looked at the viral posts on my page and everyone that liked them must have already liked my page because there were no “invite” buttons beside any of them. :/
Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but with the photos I share, I followed the instructions and cannot get the ‘invite’ box to come up next to the peoples names like your graphic. Not sure what I’m doing………….
Thanks for the article. I’m going to try some of theses things you suggested. I was NOT going to pay facebook, but was looking for ways to increase our “likes” and “fans” for Classes By Beth.
I tried it but I’m not seeing any Invite buttons by their names. Is there a setting I might have wrong?
I didn’t know this feature even existed. Thanks for pointing it out!
Thanks for the great tip!
I am trying it out. Facebook has been my no 1 referrer for ages now, so it is great to see how I can leverage from that.
Thanks for this information although I’ve had a number of posts go viral on a few pages I manage but when I look at the hundreds of people that have liked the posts, I cannot see one invite button. Is this a setting that needs to be turned on or perhaps something that hasn’t been implemented to all users?
Thanks so much for this! So simple and yet I was completely oblivious despite working in the space.
Let me know how it works out for you Alison!
No there’s no setting Eva. You’ll need to be logged in on your account and not the page account.
I don’t think very many people do. That’s why I decided to share π
Jenny, are you logged on under your name or the page name? It seems that you need to be logged in under your name and not the page. The other thing is that you need to have a lot of likes. The more likes you have the chances are greater that these folks don’t already like your page.
Let me know how it works out for your Leanne.
When you say “viral” what does that mean to you? In addition, are you logged in under your name or your page?
You’ve got to have more than 4/5 likes to get the number to pop up.
Honestly, my #1 referrer right now is Yummly. Do you have any recipes?
I’m like Eva, I couldn’t see the invite button so I went to the page through my personal page and instead of the Invite button, all I get is the Add Friend button.
Are you scrolling down? I’m getting ready to update the article with another image!
Yeah I go all the way to the end. My only options are to add them as friends.
I’m having the same issues. First, I can’t figure out how to approach my page through my personal account since they’re synced and it automatically changes me to my page admin. Also, when I do click on my likes, it only shows an option to add as a friend. Thanks for your help! Great post.
Just a request…. could you do a screen shot step by step?
Definitely will be trying this. Thanks so much for the tip, I didn’t know that I had that option! Liked you on FB as well. Looks like some great recipes
I feel like I have Kami! I sent you a email!
Great tip! I used it this morning and already gained 28 new likes! Thanks for sharing!
Wahoo! Great job Maria π
So I have been emailing with Kami and she put me as an admin on her page. She in fact does have this option! I’ll update the post in a bit to reflect the differences on how she wasn’t able to see them and I was.
Woah. This is amazing. I’ve been trying it for the last few days, and I am definitely getting more likes. Sharing everywhere!
LOL It’s Mind Blowing information that’s for sure π I’m glad it’s working for you Brittany!
know how it works out for you π
Alright Cathy…I’m pretty sure the issue you are having is because you have a large amount of fans already. The problem is that I can’t “Google” because I’m one of the few people who apparently know about this…maybe the only one! I did some investigating with a friend who has a large following of 505K+ fans and she has the same issue….BOO!
I cant get this to work for me either. I am logged in on my personal account, I have more than 4/5 likes all it come up is add friend and I’ve scrolled down to the bottom! Help?
Shannon – It seems if you have a page with a fan base of 200,000+ (this number could be lower, but, this is what I’ve seen with other pages) it’s offering it as a Add Friend, which will go through your personal Facebook Page. If you have a lower fan base and still getting this option you will need to access your page from the left hand side as the image states in the article. If this isn’t of any help feel free to shoot me a email and I can take a further look.
ok, that’s my next social media project as I never knew you could do that. Thank you so much.
On the box of likes it doesn’t even say “invite people to like this page” like your screenshot shows… it just says “people who like this”. One pic had 847 likes. This is after clicking on my page from the link on the left hand side. Would be great strategy if I could get it to work!
Hi Cathy! It seems that if you have a website with over 100K fans (the number I’ve seen thus far) you are unable to do it this way. You would have to “friend” these folks from your personal profile and hope they convert. That may or may not be against Facebook TOS so I’ll have to investigate further once I am managing a page of that reach.
Thanks for sharing this trick. I just tried this and invited people that liked one of my facebook post. Let’s see what outcome will I get π
This is brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing… π
I don’t know about brilliant, but, it’s good info to know Lory! I hope you’ll come back and keep me updated on how it’s working for you!
Thanks so much – this is so smart!
I am super excited to try this out, thanks so much! Pinning!
This is WAY COOL advice, thank you for sharing!
I ran into a problem. I don’t get enough likes on my posts right now for there to BE a number to click on in order to do this. I only have one, two, or MAYBE three likes on any given post.
So, in order to take your advice, I created a list for myself of facebook pages that have a huge reach. Pages that I want any fans of that page to also be fans of MY page. Things like the major national radio station I listen to, major music artists that play on that station, magazines in my niche, and things like that. I have a little over 2200 likes on my page, and these pages have more like 220k likes (or more).
Just thought I’d share that idea – and maybe you can share it with a wider audience than I can – for those of us who aren’t getting enough likes to do this YET. π
Pinning this also for future reference, but I’m sure it will work quickly enough that I won’t forget! Bless you!
I did this last night and it works! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for sharing this…I tried this tonight and will let you know how it works out!!!
I can’t wait to hear all about it Paula!
i am not getting any likes although i shared a viral image of another page.
You’ve got to keep at it. It’s not a one time miracle!
maybe i am not getting the process right.can u share step by step process.regards
I have three separate Facebook pages I manage. I was unable to see an invite tab for the two pages that have under 1000 fans but the page that has over 1000 likes/pages gave me the invite option. Do you think that could be the difference?
Hi Bree – No you may not have the correct privileges for the pages that you are managing. I launched my Facebook page and have been growing it this way and have always had the invite button.
By the way, my page hit 100K fans a while back, and I’m just chiming in to verify that it does turn off at that point. I loved using this feature, but I no longer have it available. Thanks so much for the tutorial!
Way to go Brittany! I hope to hit 100K one day….
Thanks for this, very interesting. Now just to get the likes in the first place!! π
