  • 3 cups cake flour
  • ¾ tsp. baking soda
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • tbsp. shortening
  • 1 cup milk

  • In the crockpot place celery, onions, carrots on the bottom of the crock pot.
  • Next add in chicken breasts and season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour in water to cover veggies and allow to cook on high for 3 hours.
  • Next add in chicken stock, stir.
  • 10-15 minutes prior to serving peel biscuits into bite size pieces and add in. I added 4 biscuits. You can do more or less depending on the amount of dumplings you enjoy.
  • Allow biscuits to fluff up and serve.
  • If making homemade Dumplings: About a half hour before serving make your dumplings in a bowl. Sprinkle your work surface and rolling pin with cake flour. Roll the dough out until it’s about ½” think. Using a pizza cutter (or sharp knife) cut 2″ diamond shapes (just got diagonally). Add the dumplings into the pot and let cook for 10-15 minutes.
