  • 2 C Flour
  • 2 C Sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 c coca cola
  • 1 c unsalted butter cubed
  • 1/4 c cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c coca cola
  • 1/2 c butter cubed
  • 1/4 c cocoa powder
  • 4 c powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 tsp vanilla


  • In a large bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, set aside.
  • In a saucepan, place cola, butter, and cocoa powder. Bring to a slow boil and whisk until everything is combined smoothly.
  • TIP: You don't want the mixture hot, you simply just want to bring everything together and melt the butter.
  • In your large bowl pour the coca-cola mixture and combine.
  • Next add in your eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  • Spread evenly into a pregreased 9x13 baking dish.
  • Bake for 25-35 minutes at 350°.
  • Remove the cake from the oven, when a toothpick inserted, comes out clean.
  • For the icing: put cola in a saucepan and allow to boil for 10-15 minutes, until it reduces down to about 1/2-3/4 c.
  • Stir in butter until melted and combine cocoa, whisking in the powdered sugar until smooth. Add in vanilla and whisk to incorporate.
  • Pour over the cake and allow to sit for 1-2 hours for the icing to harden.
  • If you are like me and can't wait, allow the cake to sit for 15-20 minutes and enjoy!
