  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper to taste
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 1 bottle BBQ sauce


  • In a small bowl, combine the salt, mustard powder, chili powder, cumin, onion powder, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir to mix and set aside.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the greased bowl of your slow cooker.
  • Cover each chicken breast liberally with the seasoning mix.
  • Cook the chicken breasts on low for 6 hours or high for 4 hours.
  • When chicken is cooked through, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. You can also use this easy way to shred chicken method.
  • Place the chicken back in the slow cooker and cover with BBQ sauce.
  • Replace the lid and allow to heat for 10 more minutes before serving.
