My Favorite Way to Eat Green Beans, Onion & Garlic

A versatile way to eat green beans. You can make this recipe so many ways. I prefer the no meat method while my kids prefer the bacon method and my husband prefers the ham method! You can't loose either way!

  • 5 Handfuls Green Beans maybe 1 1/2 lbs
  • 1/2 Yellow Onion Diced
  • 3 Cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 TBSP Olive Oil or Butter
  • Sea Salt & Pepper to Taste
  • Cooked Bacon or Ham optional


  • In a large pot boil green beans for about 6-8 minutes. The color will become brighter, that's when you need to drain.
  • In a skillet place oil, onion and garlic and cook until onion is translucent.
  • Pat green beans dry and place into skillet.
  • Toss the green beans, onion and garlic until the green beans are coated.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • If you have bacon or ham to add you'll want to add that in with the onions and garlic to heat up.
