1large egg
½cupsugar
½tspvanilla extract
2cupsconfectioners’ sugar
2-3tbspmilk

Instructions
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt in a medium-sized bowl.
Using an electric mixer, beat 1 stick of butter, egg, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add dry ingredients slow, one third at a time.
Once the cookie dough is complete, remove from bowl and take ¼ of the batter and wrap in plastic. Wrap the remainder in plastic as well and let both portions sit in the fridge for one hour.
Remove from fridge and let sit for five minutes. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Roll out bigger portion of cookie dough using your extra flour on your working surface. It should be rolled out to be about ¼ of an inch thick.
With a 2-inch circular cookie cutter, cut out circles and place on your lined baking sheet, about 1 inch apart from each other.
Color the remaining cookie dough (the ¼ portion you wrapped separately) with 2 drops of red gel food coloring and knead until completely tinted.
Roll to be ¼ of an inch thick and cut with a small heart-shaped cookie cutter. Place on the same baking sheet, about 1 inch from each other.
Bake for 11-14 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
For the buttercream:
Beat remaining butter, sugar and milk until smooth and forms stiff peaks. Color with 1 tsp of red gel food coloring and mix on high until completely tinted.
To decorate:
Once the cookies are cool, use a piping bag to frost each cookie. Add heart-shaped cookie in the center and top off with sprinkles. Enjoy!
