  • Yellow or White Cake Mix made according to directions on box

Cinnamon Filling Layer

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 c brown sugar

The Crumb Topping

  • 2 c flour
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon


  • Make your cake mix according to directions.
  • In a separate bowl combine your cinnamon filling layer ingredients and mix until incorporated.
  • In a 9x13 baking dish, make sure it's thoroughly greased with butter or non-stick baking spray.
  • Add in half of your cake mix, spread evenly.
  • Place the cinnamon filling layer on top in a even layer.
  • Pour remaining cake mix over the top of the cinnamon layer.
  • Using a spoon, carefully spread evenly.
  • Place in over and bake according to directions on box. I baked mine for 23 minutes.
  • While cake is baking, make your crumb topping by placing all your ingredients into a bowl. I like to mix all the ingredients with a spoon and then bring in a fork or my hands to break up the butter!
  • Once cake is done baking, place crumb topping on in a even layer and place bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
  • Slice with a sharp knife to get a nice even cut.
