The Best Homemade Snickerdoodle Cookies

What ingredients do I need to make snickerdoodles?
- Salted butter
- Vegetable shortening
- Granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- All-purpose flour
- Cream of tartar
- Baking soda
- Salt
- Cinnamon
- Granulated sugar

Ingredients
- ½ c salted butter room temperature
- ½ c vegetable shortening
- 1 ½ c granulated sugar
- 2 eggs room temperature
- 2 ¾ c all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Cover two baking sheets with parchment paper and put them aside.
- In a big bowl, mix the butter, shortening, sugar, and eggs until they’re all mixed together and smooth.
- Sift together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add to the large bowl and combine until the dough comes together.
- In a small bowl, combined the 2 tbsp of cinnamon and sugar, stir together until mixed well.
- Using a cookie scoop, scoop dough and form into a round ball.
- Place in the cinnamon sugar mixture coating all sides.
- Place on baking sheet about 2” apart. Repeat until all the dough has been used. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Allow the snickerdoodles to cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet so that they can set before transferring to a cooling rack.
