How We Keep Our Kitchen Clean {and My New To Me Gas Range}
This post was sponsored by P&G as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.
I grew up in a home with 3 brothers, my Parents and we always had a dog. As you can imagine the messes we’d make were a lot. However, we were taught at a very young age that we had to clean up after ourselves. I remember having to pick up before my Dad came home. Because once we was home, he got out of his work clothes he’d start on his chores of sweeping the carpet EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT. That was his thing. He was OCD and had to have straight vacuum lines…’fo real! {the things you remember as a kid!}
Believe it or not, but, in high school we had WHITE carpet in our house. I still don’t know what the hell my Mom and Dad were thinking! But from a young age I remember having to take our shoes off in the garage. We were so accustomed to taking our shoes off that it has just always been a natural thing.
Now that I have my own children the majority of these things are still in effect in our home. However, I’m not OCD on the carpet lines 😉 We still take shoes off at the front door and the reason I did my Hall Closet Makeover. My kids are also pretty good about cleaning up after themselves. With all the messes going on around here between my DIY Projects, the kids Crafts, my Recipes, two dogs and a Husband who refuses to quit tinkering in the garage {Jas is a ASE Master Certified Tech by trade, so it’s sorta his thing} and daily life with the three kiddos life can be a bit messy….to say the least!
My latest project was switching over my electric range and installing everything needed for my gas range to work. As much as I cook I’ve ALWAYS wanted a gas range. A friend of mine was getting rid of her and I jumped at the chance to get it. Needless to say the nastiness that was presented to us as we moved the old range out was enough to make me want to move. Once the floor was swept up and the loose debris was gone I got out my Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and got to work! With my recent painting of my kitchen cabinets I am kicking myself in the butt for not moving the range out and painting the sides of the cabinets. However, J talked me down and I just wiped the cabinets down with my Magic Eraser. It came clean and there is no more grease, drippings of who knows what and feel liberated to get cookin’ again.
I will also say that with all my recent
If there’s one thing that I have learned in my 30’s it is this — you get what you pay for. I’ve tried every cleaning product, laundry detergent, purchased those items that ALWAYS have a coupon, purchased even brand of diaper and even attempted to make my own cleaners. While my everyday Homemade Cleaner works well for wiping up messes and avoiding stickness that juices can leave behind, there’s just some messes that are created in the Loehner house that I simply needs a little extra…….UMMMPF!
As a prodigy of 3 out of the 4 of my Grandparents having worked at P&G and living in Cincinnati, this Momma is a little partial to her P&G Products. So in my house you’ll find Tide AND Gain Laundry detergents {cause I’m weird, different seasons call for different scents!}, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser which I typically have two buckets under my kitchen counter and two or three on hand at camp, LUVS diapers, Bounty Advanced paper towels and Cascade Dishwasher Detergent to name just a few 😉
By far I use the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers more than I care to admit on a daily basis. Since I’m a Work at Home Momma {hello two businesses} we create A LOT of messes around here. These babies clean everything from the tub, to the kitchen, to the spills of I don’t know what on the floor. I also love the fact that if the kids happen to color on the walls I can grab a Magic Eraser and remove the crayon, not the paint!
