Cute Thanksgiving Turkey Treats
Make some darling little turkeys made from rolos, pretzels, and candy corn!! Perfect to put out on a platter at your next Thanksgiving party. Make sure to make some pilgrim hat cookies to go with these too!
Rolo Pretzel Turkeys
Servings 24
Ingredients
- 24 mini pretzel twists
- 24 Rolos unwrapped
- 72 candy corn pieces
- 48 candy eyeballs
- Orange and yellow mini M&Ms
- Red decorative icing
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 275°F and prepare two baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper. It's a good idea to work in small batches, allowing you to complete the turkey assembly before the chocolate hardens.
- Arrange 6-12 pretzel twists on the parchment paper, making sure they are upside down.
- Place unwrapped Rolos on top of each pretzel, positioning them towards the bottom. This way, there’s ample space at the back to support the candy corn pieces as they set.
- Bake for roughly 1 minute just to soften the outer layer of chocolate. Be careful not to leave it in for too long, as this could cause the Rolo to melt excessively, making it tricky to attach the candy corns and keep the shape intact while decorating.
- Take the tray out of the oven and quickly place 3 pieces of candy corn on top of each Rolo to create the turkey's feathers. Be gentle while doing this to ensure the chocolate stays in place on the pretzel.
- After adding the feathers, place two candy eyeballs on each Rolo, positioning them near the upper half.
- Next, place an M&M beneath the eyes to create the beak. Gently press it down to ensure it stands upright.
- Squeeze the red decorative icing onto one side of the beaks to create the wattle or snood.
- Allow to set completely before serving, about 20 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate it for 5-10 minutes to speed up the process.
- Repeat with the remaining Rolos and pretzels. You can keep the assembled turkeys in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Enjoy!
