Dying Eggs with Koolaid
How to Dye Easter Eggs with Kool-Aid
Have fun this Easter with your kids dying eggs with Kool-aid flavor packets! The kids love that they are scented and make the eggs a bright color. White eggs work best but I have also tried farm fresh and brown eggs and they work too. Make sure to also try our tie dye Easter eggs, shaving cream Easter eggs, and fabric textured Easter eggs method too!
To create these vibrant and fun Kool-Aid Easter eggs, you’ll need just a few simple ingredients! Gather some hard-boiled eggs, a few packets of your favorite Kool-Aid flavors, some water, and a splash of vinegar. With these basic ingredients, you’ll be all set to dye your eggs in a variety of bold, bright colors and add some excitement to your Easter celebrations!
Ok, lets get started! For each color or packet of Kool-Aid, mix together ½ cup of boiling water, 1 teaspoon of vinegar, and one packet of Kool-Aid in a cup. Stir until the Kool-Aid is fully dissolved and ready for egg-cellent action!
Now, it’s time to add the stars of the show: the eggs! Gently place one egg into each cup of dye, and let it hang out for 1-2 minutes, or until you’re loving the color vibe. The longer it sits, the deeper the color will be! Using a spoon, carefully pluck the egg from the dye and place it on a paper towel to dry. Let it chill for about 5 minutes, undisturbed, until it’s no longer wet and wild.
Once it’s ready, you can carefully place it back in its egg carton, where it’ll be the coolest cat in town! Repeat the process with different colors and eggs, and before you know it, you’ll have a dozen (or so) egg-stra special Easter eggs to show off!
The yellow lemonade koolaid packet is the only one that doesn’t show up bright colors so I don’t recommend you use it!
