This sweet popcorn mix is colorful and so fun and easy to make! Kids and adults alike will love making the popcorn recipe for Easter.
Sweet Popcorn Recipe Ideas
It’s no secret that I love fun and unique popcorn recipes, especially sweet popcorn. In fact, I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to flavored popcorn. Just a few of my favorites are:
- S’mores popcorn
- Cinnamon Sugar Popcorn
- Peanut butter cup popcorn
- Glazed doughnut popcorn
- Jelly bean popcorn
- Banana split popcorn
… I just love adding sweet popcorn recipes to that board, because they all sound AMAZING.
But after a while you just have to get off Pinterest and get into the kitchen! That’s where I came up with this awesome sweet popcorn recipe for Easter. I wanted something fun and colorful that would make for an engaging “food craft” that all the kids could help with on Easter. It would give them something to do for a little while and something to snack on too.
This popcorn recipe also serves as a great food gift around Easter — you could make it and put it in a clear cellophane bag and tie it with a pretty bow. (Pink or white would work since the popcorn has plenty of pink and white to it, thanks to the melted chocolate and candies!)
How to make this Sweet Popcorn Recipe (Step by Step)
To make the sweet popcorn mix, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 2 cups popcorn kernels + butter or 2-3 bags of microwave popcorn
- 1 cup pink candy melts
- ½ cup white candy melts
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
- 3 tsp coconut oil
- Red food coloring
- Blue food coloring
- Chocolate-covered candies (preferably in pastel colors)
- Mini pretzels
- Pastel-colored sprinkles
Step #1: Prepare the popcorn (either air-popped or microwaved) and put it in a large bowl.
Step #2: Microwave each candy melt color (pink and white) individually. For each bowl of candy melts, you’ll want to add 1 tsp of coconut oil and microwave it in 30-second intervals until it is completely melted. (That is some seriously BRIGHT pink right there!)
Step #3: Melt white chocolate chips using the double boiler method and two add drops of blue food coloring and three drops of red food coloring.
Step #4: Pour candy melts and melted chocolate over popcorn. Fold to get the popcorn as coated as possible.
Step #4: Top the sweet pretzel mix off with candies, pretzels, and sprinkles! (Isn’t this some fun-looking popcorn?!)
Tips for Making Easter Popcorn
- You can easily double or triple this recipe. It’s perfect for parties!
- Instead of combining the ingredients in the final step, let guests combine their own popcorn. If you’re serving this at a party or gathering, let people create their own final version of Easter Popcorn. They can choose how many candies, pretzels, and sprinkles to add.
