How to Make Mini Cheese Balls
Looking for a unique and fun finger food appetizer?! You must make these mini cheese balls topped with cranberries, bacon, green onions, walnuts, or whatever your heart desires!
- Serve alongside your favorite crackers, bread, or corn chips
- Use leftovers: Spread some on a bagel
- Storage: In the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Have fun with the recipe:
- Make it spicy: Add a spicy cheese, a pinch of red pepper flakes, or finely chopped jalapenos.
- Make it kid-friendly: Omit the onions and add more cheese.
- Make it Deluxe: Use a smoked gouda or finely chopped spinach in the cheese mixture.
Mini Cheese Ball Appetizers

Ingredients
- 1 block 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon Everything Bagel seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ cup shredded Colby Jack
- ¼ chopped onion I used sweet onions but you can use red onion or chopped green onion
Topping ideas
- ¼ cup chopped dry cranberries
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts
- ¼ cup chopped bacon bits
- 18 pretzel sticks
Instructions
- Whip the cream cheese in a mixing bowl with a hand mixer until softened and airy.
- Add the Everything Bagel seasoning, garlic powder, Colby Jack, and chopped onions. Mix until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Place the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Scoop the cheese mixture into balls using a small cookie scoop (2 teaspoons).
- Roll each ball into your preferred topping: dry cranberries, green onions, walnuts, or bacon bits.
- Place a pretzel stick on top.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
