Making rice in your instant pot is going to change your life, my friends. Ok, maybe it won’t completely change your life, but it can certainly save you some time and some “not quite perfect” rice frustrations. I love a good, fluffy rice to go with my stir-fry dishes and it doesn’t get much fluffier than this. Alright enough chatter let’s show you how to cook white rice in your instant pot!
Instant Pot White Rice makes an excellent side dish for many different meals, and since it is so easy to cook in the Instant Pot, you will certainly be adding this into your meal rotation more often. Not kidding, it takes less than 10 minutes to cook white rice to perfection in the Instant Pot.

INGREDIENTS OF INSTANT POT WHITE RICE
- White rice
- Water
- Cooking oil
- Salt
VARIATIONS TO INSTANT POT WHITE RICE
- Replace the water with chicken, beef, or veggie broth for added flavor.
- If you plan to use your rice for another dish such as fajitas or stir fry, you can add that seasoning at the beginning of the process.
HOW TO MAKE INSTANT POT WHITE RICE
Rinse rice under cold running water until the water runs clear.
Add oil to the Instant Pot along with the rinsed rice (still damp), water and salt.
Lock the lid and set the steam valve to its “sealing” position. Select the “RICE” button or follow the cooking chart below. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes and then release any remaining pressure.
Fluff rice with a fork and serve.
