How to Make Old Fashion Custard Pie
Preheat oven to 350°.Place pie shell in the pie dish and pierce with a fork to ensure the crust doesn’t bake up.
Place pie shell in oven and cook for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Meanwhile, work on your custard. Place eggs in bowl and beat.
Add in sugar, salt, and nutmeg.
Next, add in scalded milk and slowly drizzle it in. Otherwise, you end up cooking your eggs.
TIP: if you want a more yellow color, add in a few drops of yellow food coloring.
Pour custard into the pie crust. Bake at 400° for 30-35 minutes or until a knife/toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of your egg custard pie.
Cool before serving.

- 2 ½ c hot milk heat milk to just before boiling
