Easy Slow Cooker Chicken and Stuffing
One of my favorite comfort food recipes is this chicken and stuffing meal! You also make it in your crockpot and come home to dinner ready to go! It’s the best for a chilly fall or winter night dinner! The chicken breasts in the slow cooker turn out so moist and juicy. You can even cut them with a fork and shred it if you want. The stuffing is super fluffy and has crunchy bits on the top…it’s so good! It’s like having a cheaper Thanksgiving meal at home!
To make this mouth-watering meal, you’ll need to gather a few simple ingredients. Start with some boneless, juicy chicken breasts, which will serve as the protein-packed foundation of your dish. Next, grab some chicken broth, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, and ground black pepper to add some flavor and aroma.
You’ll also need a can of cream of chicken soup to add a rich, creamy element. Don’t forget to pick up a package of Stovetop Stuffing Mix – either herb or chicken flavors work beautifully – and some melted salted butter to tie everything together.
First, grab 1 ½ pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breast and plop those babies into the slow cooker. Next, pour in 1 cup of chicken broth. In a tiny bowl, mix together ½ teaspoon of Italian seasoning, ½ teaspoon of minced garlic, and ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper. Sprinkle this magic seasoning blend all over those chicken breasts, making sure they’re nice and coated.
Pour not one, but TWO cans of 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup over those seasoned chicken breasts. Next, sprinkle 1 box of 6 oz Stovetop Stuffing Mix (herb or chicken flavors, both fabulous!) evenly over the chicken. Finally, drizzle 6 tablespoons of melted salted butter over the stuffing, because, well, everything’s better with butter! Set this on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours. And when it’s done, get ready to devour the most tender, juicy chicken of your life! Serve it up and enjoy the oohs and aahs from your friends and family.
The Lowdown on This Recipe: What to Expect
This recipe is a real winner, and here’s what you can expect. Flavor-wise, it’s a salty sensation, with all the ingredients complementing each other beautifully. And when it comes to texture, get ready for a silky, tender treat that’s sure to please even the pickiest eaters. As for ease, this recipe is a breeze. Simply add the ingredients and cook – it’s that straightforward!
And if you’re looking for the perfect side dish, try pairing it with some roasted vegetables or a fresh green salad. Storage and reheating are also a snap. This dish will keep for 2-3 days in an airtight container in the fridge, and you can reheat it to perfection in either the air fryer or microwave.
Now, the Fun Part: Customizing Your Recipe! Want to spice things up? Add some chili powder or a pinch of cayenne to the seasoning for an extra kick. Or, try swapping out the seasoning for a taco mix for a fun twist. And if you’re feeling fancy, why not make it deluxe by mixing the cream of chicken with a few tablespoons of sour cream? The possibilities are endless, so have fun and get creative!
