Need a fun way to get your kids interested in foods that are good with them? If so, you have got to try out this Kermit the Frog Apple Snack with Peanut Butter!

Kermit Apple & Peanut Butter Snack

You saw the image and you decided that the children in your life would LOVE LOVE LOVE this Kermit the Frog Apple and Peanut Butter snack, right?!? Well first let me tell you that it’s super simple to make. Secondly, I’m willing to bet you have everything you need, with the exception of the edible marker, in your pantry. Now while you don’t necessarily need the Wilton Edible Marker it does add a bit of playfulness and completes the piece. {I ordered mine on Amazon for just a few bucks because it would take me a week to get to Michaels and I get my order a lot faster than that, usually in two days!}

Whether you are making this apple snack for a quick afternoon snack, a bite to eat in between school and practice or for a fun party I’m sure the children in your life will love it and talk about it for weeks to come!

Ingredients

    • 1 Green apple
    • 1 Red apple
    • 1 large marshmallow
    • ½ cup of peanut butter
  • 1 Wilton’s edible black marker

Alright so I often make these for birthday parties or when I need to get my kids to have fun with their food. They don’t really have a problem eating their fruits and vegetables, but, as a child it’s important to have them excited about healthy eating and this is one way I do just that in my house. As Beanies is getting a bit older she’s even slicing and dicing her own fruit for her Famous Fruit Salad {recipe coming soon}.

Let’s get you started creating your own Kermit the Frog!

Ingredients

  • 1 Green apple
  • 1 Red apple
  • 1 large marshmallow
  • ½ cup of peanut butter
  • 1 Wilton's edible black marker

Instructions

  • Using a sharp knife slice your green green apple in half, stem to end.
  • Slice a small slice off both sides of the green apple making one end more narrow.
  • Using a paring knife cut a moon shape in the center of the apple.
  • Cut the same shape out of the red apple and firmly place it in where you removed the moon shape on the green apple.
  • Cut your marshmallow in half. With your edible marker make the eyes. With the sticky side down place on top of your apple. The marshmallow will be sticky enough to stick to the apple.
  • With the other half of your green apple cut triangle shapes for Kermit’s neck ruffle.
  • In a small bowl place peanut butter to serve with the apples!
