This Red Velvet Cupcakes Recipe has a surprise that kids will LOVE to get in on… mine did!
Over the past few weeks, I’ve realized that TT girl hasn’t been in the kitchen as much as Beanies was when she was her age. It makes me sad! When Beanies was little she had my undivided attention. Fast forward four years later and I’m scrambling to give each child one on one time with Beanies not getting much since she’s now at school all day.
So we took a Sunday and had a little one on one time. While Jason and Beanies headed to the grocery store and Bubby was down for a super late nap, the TT girl and I decided to head into the kitchen and create a super special red velvet cupcakes recipe for ya’ll!
Ok, maybe not for ya’ll, but, she wanted to bake something and use Oreos… so we kinda killed two birds with one stone. 😉
I had a box of Duncan Hines Red Velvet Mix sitting in the baking cabinet just waiting to be made. I bought a while ago and had been craving to make a decadent and quick dessert with it.
Are red velvet cupcakes just chocolate?
Besides red food coloring, a red velvet cupcakes recipe includes cocoa powder, vinegar, and buttermilk.
Now because ya’ll LOVE the Chocolate Chip Oreo Brownies so much, I figured you’d LOVE this Red Velvet Cupcakes recipe – cupcakes with hidden Oreo cookies. It’s super simple to make and nothing out of the ordinary. Not to mention it looks heavenly, right?!?
Now if you know me you know that I have to do pretty much everything homemade. Because I used Oreos and Duncan Hines Red Velvet Cake Mix, I felt like I needed something homemade.
I haven’t posted a Cream Cheese Icing recipe yet so this is it! It’s super simple to make and taste better than anything you’d ever grab in from the baking aisle.
