I’m having a bit of a love affair lately with unicorn-themed food and crafts, and I don’t think I’m the only one. I feel like everyone is scouring Pinterest and Facebook for the latest and greatest unicorn projects. We all can’t help but love those pretty, fantasy-inspired unicorn recipes and crafts!
I recently posted these Unicorn Cupcakes that this amazing chick, Sarah, created and shared with My Heavenly Recipes. They are ADORABLE, y’all. Cupcakes baked into an ice cream cone and decorated to look like a pretty unicorn. They’re perfect for kids’ birthday parties or really anytime you want a cupcake that will put a smile on your face.
After the success of that post, I’m thrilled to bring you these Unicorn Bouquet Cupcakes. You start with simple and elegant bouquet cupcakes (beautiful enough to wow anyone)…
… and then add unicorn ears and a glittery unicorn horn for the ultimate unicorn cupcake.
Tips for Making Unicorn Bouquet Cupcakes
Don’t be intimidated by these cupcakes! Here are a few tips for you:
Start with the biggest flowers/swirls first. Then fill in the smaller flowers and leaves.
You can make flowers and swirls with any star tip.
Use any leaf tip to make the ivy/leaves. You could also use a grass tip. Be sure to use consistent pressure when piping.
When filling the piping bag with icing be sure to get all air pockets out and twist the top of the bag tightly around the icing to keep pressure.
Practice on wax paper first.
Make sure your icing consistency if firm enough. if its too soft the flowers can melt or droop.
