Easy homemade biscuits are a fantastic dish to keep on hand for breakfast too! You can top them with butter and honey, use them for biscuits and gravy, or, even slice them up and place some egg, cheese, and bacon inside for a delicious breakfast sandwich. So many options!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE EASY HOMEMADE BISCUITS:
- 2 C All-Purpose Flour
- 1 TBSP Baking Powder
- ½ TSP Salt
- ½ C Shortening
- ¾ C Milk (or buttermilk)
- 3 TBSP Butter, melted
HOW TO MAKE EASY HOMEMADE BISCUITS
Preheat oven to 450°
In a large bowl, sift flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in shortening with a fork or pastry cutter until you have pea-size pieces.
Slowly stir in milk until incorporated.
On a floured surface toss the dough together until sticky. You aren’t really needing it, just bringing it together.
Punch dough down until it’s ½″ thick evenly to make biscuits.
Using a round biscuit or cookie cutter, cut out biscuits.
Repeat the process until your biscuits have been made. I got 8 biscuits out of my dough using a 3″ biscuit cutter.
Using a pastry or basting brush, top each biscuit with butter. This helps the tops to turn a golden brown.
Place biscuits on baking sheet and place in the oven for 8-10 minutes until biscuits are a light golden brown.
Remove from oven and brush the tops again with butter.
Serve and enjoy with butter, honey, biscuits and gravy and more!
