- If there are no peanut allergies, add in chopped nuts to the pretzel and chocolate mixture.
- No stick pretzels? No worries, use Chow Mein Noodles instead!
- Add in half a cup of peanut butter with half a cup of chocolate chips to make thicker chocolate!
Ingredients
- 1 C Pretzel Sticks, broken in half
- 1 C Chocolate, melted (I used Semi-Sweet it’s what was on hand)
Isn’t this an adorable Easter idea? If you are having guests you can write on the hard-boiled egg with a marker and use as a place setting.
Speaking of hard-boiled eggs – do you know How to Quickly Peel a Hard Boiled Egg?
Directions
1. Break pretzel sticks in half, then place into a large bowl.
2. MELT chocolate (either in the microwave or a double broiler)
3. MIX the melted chocolate and pretzel sticks together, ensure each pretzel is coated with chocolate.
4. SPRAY your cupcake pan with a little non-stick or baking spray.
5. SCOOP out a tablespoon of the pretzel mixture into your cupcake pan.
6. PRESS the pretzel mixture from the middle outward. You want to ensure the middle of the nest can hold whatever food you will be putting inside.
7. HARDEN for 1-2 hours in the fridge.
8. REMOVE your Chocolate Birds Nest very carefully. I’ve found that it is easiest to use a spoon and loosen the edges to pop it out.
9. PLACE your egg, candy, ice cream or whatever yumminess inside!
Most importantly, enjoy this little piece of Heaven!
