Are you looking for an affordable way to decorate cabinets? Want to bring the holiday into your kitchen? Afterall it is there heart of the home. C’mon in and let me show you how I decorate cabinets for a few bucks.
You may remember that I painted my cabinets and I’ve been obsessed with my kitchen ever since. I feel with the neutral color I can now decorate for the holidays without being gawdy or cheap looking.
So one of my all time favorite places to grab decorating and craft supplies is DOLLAR TREE! Can you believe it? I’ve bought so many decorations from Dollar Tree and when I tell people that’s where I got them, there minds are blown! I’m also one who thinks outside the box and that’s just what ya gotta do when you decorate your home on a budget, know what I mean?!?
I had originally gone to the Dollar Tree with the Little to grab a few spooky Halloween Decorations for camp. However, I strolled down one of my favorite aisles and found this chevron burlap roll and these fun leaves. I wasn’t to sure what I was going to initially do with them, but, I bought them anyway! I came home and they literally sat in the kitchen for two weeks. I was sick and didn’t feel like doing a single thing and told myself “would you do something with those already?!?” So I grabbed some tacks and a pair of scissors and literally decorated my kitchen cabinets in less than 10 minutes.
I feel like the kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s the place where guests come over and just hang out {am I right?!?}. It’s the one room in the house that lacks decoration and is often forgot about. So when Thanksgiving ends and we are putting up our Christmas decorations I’ll switch out the leaves for maybe some berries or maybe even make some Salt Dough Christmas ornaments with the kiddos. You just never know with me!
How do you take your coffee? I do a little honey, a splash of Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk and a strong brew columbian!
Now you may be asking how I did this, right? It’s really pretty easy. I used the burlap ribbon to measure my cabinet. I then put a tack on the seam of the top of the cabinet and again on the bottom. I ended up cutting the garland into pieces. I only had 1 so I had to use it wisely! I then placed the wire of the leaves through the burlap and wrapped it around the back. Much to my surprise, it’s stayed in place!
