Our family loves to give back every chance that we get. From working with 160 students every month during the school year, to helping at a local non-profit and donating time at church, we are constantly giving and wouldn’t have it any other way as it has brought our family closer together. I wanted to create a quick & easy recipe for Moms to be prepared for their kids home for the summer.

During May, there are simple ways that I can continue to help others just by doing things that I would do anyway. When I stock up on the General Mills cereals that my kids love, I am also supporting the Children’s Miracle Network. Since giving back is important to me and my family, I love that I can buy a product that we already love and help others at the same time! It is an effort I can wholeheartedly support.

In fact, did you know that each minute, 62 children will enter a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital? When looking at the boxes for each of the participating General Mills cereals, each one features the story of a different child. These are just a small number of children that are helped from donations to the CMN Hospitals. When I purchased Honey Nut Cheerios (and I surprised the kids with Lucky Charms), my donation went to my local CMN Hospital Children’s Hospital – Cincinnati Children’s. Which we are beyond blessed to have this award winning hospital in our backyard.

In a microwave-safe dish, heat up peanut butter for 30-45 seconds until it becomes a runny consistency. This makes working with peanut butter a lot easier! Pour peanut butter into the Cheerios mixture and mix until combined.

Fold in whipped cream, bananas and chocolate chips.

In a bread loaf pan, spray with nonstick cooking spray and line with plastic wrap. Make sure the plastic wrap is long enough on both sides to fold over. Place the mixture into an even layer in the bottom of the loaf pan.

If you have extra bananas and strawberries, dice up about ⅓ c and sprinkle onto the top. I also had mini chocolate chips on hand! Fold both sides of the plastic wrap up and place in the freezer overnight. Flip out the Cereal Yogurt Parfait onto a serving plate or dish. Unwrap the plastic wrap. Serve and enjoy!

  1. Really anxious to try this one! I wonder if one could melt the choco chips and nix the PB for those with peanut allergies?

  2. You could totally melt the chocolate chips. It would just turn the mixture a brown color and not be pretty to look at when you are eating! As far as the peanut butter, you can totally leave it out. However, the mixture will not be as thick. Let me know how it turns out!
