This homemade granola recipe is super versatile! Can be enjoyed with yogurt, on ice cream, as a healthy snack, or with lunch. A kid friendly granola recipe!
Is Homemade Granola Healthy?
Depending on the ingredients you use to make it, homemade granola CAN be healthy. If you want to have a healthy homemade granola, it’s important to monitor the amount of sugar and sugary ingredients you add.
I will also say that the Beaniegirl LOVES to pack homemade granola in her lunch. In fact, she took it today with a sub sandwich, celery and ranch and a “fruit salad”…it’s just really strawberries and blueberries. She loves to eat homemade granola all by itself. Sometimes she’ll add it into a cereal or yogurt, but, more times than not she just nibbles on it.
And if you don’t care for the chocolate morsels, feel free to substitute them with dried cranberries, raisins, etc. You can totally make this recipe based on the ingredients that you have in your pantry and with what will get your kids eating it…for me that’s the chocolate. 😉
Does that not look delicious? How will you enjoy your homemade granola?!?
Alright I’ll let you get to the recipe already!

Hi Phyllis – I don’t have calorie counts at this time. I am working to find something that is legit and works well with the site. So far I have yet to find something… Pretty much all the recipes I eat and have ate to keep my weight off. It’s all about substituting the bad fats with the goods, eliminating processed foods and sugars. If you can do that and eat a clean diet you are half way there. Feel free to shoot me a email (Marci@MyHeavenlyRecipes.com) and I can give you some specifics.
