Chocolate Cookie Truffles
One of my greatest weaknesses is chocolate. I don’t know why, but, I am just drawn to it like people are drawn to pop. That is probably my biggest problem when it comes to eating “the right way” so I’ll take it. I enjoy fruits and vegetables and typically eat healthy on a daily basis. When I got on my weight loss track I quickly realized I needed to get this chocolate addiction under control.
My weigh out 😉 was to only create a Dessert recipe every Sunday. When that dessert ran out, there was no more until the following Sunday. Now that 60 pounds is gone this is still how I go about my chocolate addiction!
So if you have a bad habit or addiction I would strongly urge yourself to battle against yourself and make it into a challenge. You see when you deprive your body of those urges you will give into temptation and go over board where is if you enjoy the urge in moderation.
Now these Chocolate Cookie Truffles have quickly become a sin because they are so quick and easy to make. If I am needing something a little extra special or want to keep a dessert on hand for friends who stop by it’s either these bad boys or my Homemade Buckeyes {which reminds me, I need to make these & reshoot some pretty pictures!}. They both freeze really well and thaw in just a few minutes!
Ingredients for Chocolate Cookie Truffles

- Semi Sweet Chocolate Morsels
How to Make Chocolate Cookie Truffles – Step by Step
Step 1. In a food process place cookies and pulse until you get crumbs.
Step 2. Add in a TBSP of cream cheese at a time to combine, mixing in between.
Step 3. Using a cookie scoop place the cookie mixture onto a baking sheet and place in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to firm.
Step 4. Over a double boiler (medium size sauce pan with water, place a pyrex bowl inside the pan ensuring that the water doesn’t touch the bowl) place chocolate in and mix until melted. Remove from heat.
Step 5. Place cookie dough into melted chocolate. Using a spoon to ensure the cookie mix is fully covered in chocolate carefully place onto a sheet of wax paper and allow the chocolate to harden. You’ll repeat this process until every ball is coated in chocolate.
Once the chocolate has hardened you can place in a gallon size Ziploc bag and place in the freezer or serve.
