Want to impress friends and family? Recreate this Red Lobster Biscuits Mix in your own kitchen with super simple ingredients that are more likely already in your kitchen.
Previous to coming up with this Red Lobsters Biscuit Mix, I will admit I would purchase that HUGE box from big box stores. It suited the craving when it hit, but, after going through two boxes in a month, I knew it was time to buckle down and create my own version!
After many failed attempts, this is hands down the BEST Red Lobsters Biscuit Mix recipe. The garlic powder is super important, just as much so as brushing the top of the biscuit (or bread in this case today) with the deliciousness. The topping is what really makes this taste true to the restaurants version.
What You Need To Make Red Lobsters Biscuit Mix
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
- ⅛ tsp. black pepper
- 4 ounces cheddar cheese, cut into ¼ inch cubes
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- ¾ cup sour cream
- 3 tbsp. butter, melted
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
Topping:
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tbsp garlic salt
- ½ tsp parsley
Mix together and brush on top of the bread
How to Make Red Lobsters Biscuit Mix Perfectly Every Time
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9×5 loaf pan with oil.
In a bowl, whisk together the first 5 ingredients.
Carefully stir in cheese cubes until covered in flour mixture, this will help prevent your cheese sinking to the bottom of your loaf of bread.
Next add in the wet ingredients – milk, sour cream, butter and egg.
Fold into the flour and cheese mixture, stir until just combined, do not over stir.
Spread the mixture into the greased loaf pan or drop 2 tablespoons of dough onto a greased baking sheet to create biscuits.
Bake for 45-50 minutes if making a bread. If making biscuits, you will want to bake them for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
Allow to cool 10 minutes and then remove from pan. Be sure to brush on topping while bread or biscuits are still warm so that it soaks into the bread.
Allow to cool for one hour before slicing and serving.
