Crock Pot Apple Pie Dumpling Cake is a perfect dessert for fall!Pin

A lot of the time when I see recipes I think of how I can put my own spin on it or how I could make it work for my family. For instance, we LOVE Apple Crisp. In fact, you can see my Apple Crisp recipe <– here. And if you may have noticed I’ve gotten into this whole Dump Cake recipe thing. I mean it’s quick, easy, there’s hardly any mess and at the end of it I get to enjoy a dessert with my family! It’s sorta a W all the way around.

If you haven’t caught my viral Crock Pot Pumpkin Spice Dump Cake you should really make it. It’s heavenly too!

This Crock Pot Apple Pie recipe is a twist on a dump cake and apple crisp all in one!Pin

So I tried my hand at a idea that I had in my head since last year. I wanted to mix Cinnamon Rolls with a Cake Mix to create a Apple Pie Cake, but, then I wanted the “crisp” for the topping. The trick is to leave the lid off of the crock pot the last 30 minutes or so and the topping will harden. Otherwise you won’t get any crunch from the oats!

Ingredients

  • 1 Box White Cake Mix
  • Small Can (5 ct.) Cinnamon Rolls, torn
  • 1 Stick (½ C) Butter, melted
  • 1 Can Apple Pie Filling
  • Struesel: 1 Stick Butter, 1 C Brown Sugar, 1 ½ C Oats

Directions

  1. Place White Cake Mix, torn cinnamon rolls in crock pot and mix together.
  2. Next drizzle in melted butter and top with apple pie filling.
  3. Cook on HIGH in your Crock Pot for 2 hours and stir.
  4. Place struesel topping ingredients in a bowl and combine.
  5. Spread evenly on top of cake mix  and cook for another 1 hour.
  6. The final 30 minutes remove the lid to the Crock Pot to allow the struesel topping to harden so that it allows you to have a little crunch.
  7. Serve warm with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream & Caramel Sauce.

With the homemade strudel topping on this Crock Pot Apple Pie t'll have you in the heavens!Pin

Would you look at that? It’s glorious and heavenly and just pure perfection! A few of you asked me why I use my Casserole Crock Pot and is it necessary. It’s only $40 on Amazon and I use it to bake with. You can also use it to make a Crock Pot Lasagna and other fun recipes so for me it’s worth the investment! Plus, I LOVE the lid because it locks so if I have to transport a recipe in the crock pot this is the one that I use.
