Mummy Rice Krispies
Scare Surprise the kids with these FUN Mummy Rice Krispies!
For those of you who follow the My Heavenly Recipes Facebook page, you already know the story of my 9 year old daughter who has been battling migraines for the past month. She’s gotten a migraine a week and has vomiting and is down for 2-4 days at a time.
We ended up going to the Headache Center at Children’s Hospital and was prescribed medication for her to take to help control the aura’s and vomiting. She’s been pretty down in the dumbs lately and so I decided to surprise the kids one afternoon with these Mummy Rice Krispies treats!
Hands down, our favorite Holiday is Halloween. The kids and I love to be creative with scary foods, decorating for Halloween and my son was born on Halloween. Halloween was also the day that our Betty Boop was born on and being that Bubby was born on that day holds it even more dear to our hearts because Betty Boop passed away of cancer before Bryson was born. Not to mention my Hubby’s birthday is 2 days later!
So we have a lot to celebrate and be Thankful for during the Holiday season.
I knew I wanted to turn this into a recipe for the website and did so while they were all napping one afternoon!
These Mummy Rice Krispies Treats are seriously so simple it’s ridiculous. You can even purchase the pre-made Rice Krispies Treats to make your life even easier or take the extra 5 minutes and make the Rice Krispies treats yourself, it’s completely up to you!
I simply melted a bag of White Morsels and spread it on the Rice Krispies leaving a lined pattern if you will from the spoon to give it that “Mummy” look! I also placed two eyes to make it look as if the Mummy was peeping out at you!
Now if you have about a hour or so you can take the melted white chocolate and put it into a ziploc bag and snip the end off and pipe the layers to make it look a little bit more realistic, but, this was fun for the kids to do!
