Ingredients

Simple Syrup

  • 5 TBSP Sugar
  • 5 TBSP Water
  • 2 TBSP Corn Syrup

Icing

  • 1 C Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 TBSP Vegetable Oil
  • 2 TBSP Vegetable Shortening
  • 4 TBSP Corn Syrup (honey or golden syrup works too)
  • 2 Sticks of Unsalted Butter
  • 2 TSP Vanilla Extract
  • 8 C Powdered Sugar
  • 4-6 TBSP Cold Water

Now that ya’ll have this recipe you are going to be in heaven. You will want to put this icing on EVERYTHING. SERIOUSLY!

Homemade Fudge Icing Recipe

A fudge icing recipe that is so good you will wonder if you are in heaven!

Ingredients

  • 5 TBSP Sugar
  • 5 TBSP Water
  • 2 TBSP Corn Syrup
  • 1 C Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 TBSP Vegetable Oil
  • 2 TBSP Vegetable Shortening
  • 4 TBSP Corn Syrup honey or golden syrup works too
  • 2 Sticks of Unsalted Butter
  • 2 TSP Vanilla Extract
  • 8 C Powdered Sugar
  • 4-6 TBSP Cold Water

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan combine the first 3 ingredients to make a simple syrup. You will want to boil the ingredients for 2-3 minutes over medium high heat.
  • Next place the simple syrup into a bowl and allow place in freezer to cool.
  • Using a Kitchen Aid mixer with the paddle attachment add the cocoa powder and cooled but still warm simple syrup and mix until it forms a firm mass. It will be thick and odd, but, it's ok!
  • Next add the Vegetable Oil and Solid Vegetable Shortening ensure to combine all the ingredients. You may need to use a spatula and scrape down the sides of your bowl.
  • Add the corn syrup and the softened butter mixing until smooth.
  • Place sifted confectioners sugar all at once and mix on low until smooth.
  • Slowly add the cold water 1 tablespoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  • * You can use a hand mixer, be sure to add small amounts of powdered sugar at a time.
